[Press Release] Aligning Systems for Health in Tribal Communities
(July 22, 2021)
Red Star and its partners from Seven Directions, A Center for Indigenous Public Health based at the University of Washington, are honored to work with five tribal nations to increase capacity and to deepen their understanding of systems – people, processes, and context. The launch of our new study, Indigenous Health Systems: Revitalizing Inherent Alignment, will explore root causes to address challenges and create lasting improvements across health care, public health, social services, and other sectors.
We are grateful for our tribal partners from the Cherokee Nation (OK), Coeur D’Alene Tribe (ID), Pascua Yaqui Tribe (AZ), Taos Pueblo (NM), and Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness (ME) who are committed to improving systems for the health and wellbeing of our communities.
Support for this study was provided by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
